New Mold Bill Signed by California Governor

On October 9, 2015, Governor Brown of California signed Senate Bill 655. This act adds a section to the civil code that adds mold to the list of conditions that are enforceable in California housing. Put simply, if visible mold is detected by a code enforcement or health officer, the state government can direct remediation which, and this directive is now enforceable by law.
