I started a thread at GreenBuildingAdvisor.com about Bau Biologie. As with most discussions on their Q&A forum, it ranges somewhat organically all over the map, but I wanted to introduce the concepts to those who believe “green” building is mostly just energy efficiency using whatever synthetic materials seem most effective.
I’ve been the Jeremiad on that website, being sharply critical of mainstream “green” building and mainstream thinking, as well as trying to point the way to another path.
The thread is at http://www.greenbuildingadvisor.com/community/forum/green-building-techniques/19243/bau-biologie-first-green-building-movement .
So much for trying to use HTML tags for a hypertext link. Try this:

One aspect of Bau-Biologie that can be especially helpful is its potential of interfaces with the arts. In fact, many otherwise impossible cases have been at least partially resolved or relieved by the use of artistic techniques.
Sculptures and paintings can be carefully placed to defuse tension in many places. An extreme example, which was done by some of my own clients, was putting a chrome metal sculpture in front of a house that faced the end of a street. Tensions in the house went down considerably.
Whenever you want to change an environment quickly, use music. Live performances and a few recordings have the power to overcome many problems either temporarily or permanently. In fact live music can leave behind a sort of vibration in a building for an indefinite amount of time, a fact that was known to ancient Chinese, Tibetan, Japanese, and Korean philosophers.
